Three of our moms – Joylene, Felicia & Lindiswa recently took part in a 2 day au pair / first aid course offered by Supernannies. Karin Thomsen and the awesome team at Supernannies were kind enough to include Young Mom Support as part of their community outreach efforts. Please check out their website – they’re providing a much needed service and doing good work.

It might not seem like a lot – but to some it’s the first foot in the door, the first glimmer of an idea that “I CAN”…

The girls really enjoyed their time and worked hard –  the effort they took just to get all the way to Vredehoek that early in the morning, after settling their babies with childminders etc,  was testament to their commitment to making the most of the opportunities offered to them.

here’s to great things to come for our moms, and to great organisations doing special work.

The pic below is of the training class with their manuals- I don’t know the other ladies (sorry) – just our three.

They will be receiving their certificates at our next meeting on Saturday – looking forward to it.

But seriously people! Just look how far we’ve come since my first shy, tentative post back in December. So proud.
